Big Fun Friday

We celebrate achievement and hard work, here at the gym.  This weekend, we are celebrating Joanie, The Queen of Badassistan, competing at the Regional competition in Castle Rock.  Joanie is going to do great, but best of all, she is going to have fun competing.

And just as great, Glenn got double unders today during the workout.  Great job Glenn.  Your hard work is paying off.

Today’s workout:

Snatch, 75% of 1 rm, two times per minute for six minutes.

Then:

Double unders.  As many as possible in 10 minutes.

Enjoy.

Running.  Saturday’s class will be at 10 a.m. at the park.  Bring a timer.  See you there.

Sweet!  How cool was it to wake up to 44 degrees, falling to below freezing, and by the end of the 6 a.m. class…..full on snow!  Cool…really.

As of early afternoon, it’s sticking to the ground, break out the snow shovel, and enjoy spring in the mountains.  Smile, spring is on the way.

Back squat, 65% of 1 rm, 8 x 2, 60 seconds rest between sets.

Then:

10 minute AMRAP – 10 box jumps, 20 russian KB swings, 15 push ups.

Enjoy the snow.  It’s slickery out there.

The snow is melting, the grass…can be seen, and the sun is getting warm.  Our activities are changing: running, biking, hiking.  But not today.

Press, 60% of 1RM, 8×2, 90 seconds between sets.

Push jerk, 1-1-1-1-1

Tabata sit ups.

The running workout is on your own today.  Go to the park, or find a spot you can repeat 200m runs.

5 x 200, with 90 second rest.

Each 200m run should be within 2 seconds of the first one.  If it is not, you owe a foul of 5 burpees.  Fouls are paid at the end.

For example, your first 200 run is 20 seconds, rest 90 seconds.  The second is 21 seconds, rest 90 seconds.  The third, fourth, and fifth are 26 seconds.  You have three fouls, and owe 15 burpees.
