A quick reminder that Jason Bojar will be at the gym tomorrow morning at 8:30 to do the body comp testing for $10. Tomorrow is also the last day of our nutrition challenge and is a good time to check and see how you look (take your pictures), how you feel, and how you perform. Did your food changes make a difference?

We have done several of our benchmarks this week including Cindy and one rep max deadlift. We saw many increased numbers. I heard as much as a four round improvement in Cindy. Really!

And deadlift day saw new PR’s for nearly everyone…and not just a little. Laurie now owns the biggest deadlift for the girls, 250 pounds. Great job all around!

And we all have room for improvement. Note the picture below where Alan is nearing the top of the deadlift and he seems to be leaning to the right, favoring his dominant leg. From what we understand, the lift started up and left, then leaned right, then leaned left again to the top. Those of you with the erector set push ups and sit ups (Temple) have nothing on the erector set deadlift.

Didn’t get the PR you wanted yesterday on the deadlift? Do you have a written goal? Is the deadlift even a lift you want to improve? Write it down and share it with us. We are committed to helping you reach and exceed you goals.

See you tomorrow.

Mid-week and time for some nutritional results. Some are feeling a bit off and adjusting habits to not grab that “go-to” food in the event of hunger. Breaking these habits has been easy for some and not so much for others.

Deciding what to eat and what is available to us is also a challenge for some of us. We have many great resources right under out noses. The recipes are being shared, funny stories being told, and some successes as well. I have heard many interesting ideas from Khris, Angie, Pacie, and Lisa to name a few.

Successes? Here are a few results after one week for a few folks who have really committed to eating paleo foods: five pound weight loss and three inch loss; four pounds after losing 20 pounds since December 30. The impressive thing about these two stories is that it all occurred by changing food choices. Our workouts have been the same mixture of fun and suck since….well, since we started.

Some of us are not looking for weight loss. This is where your photo’s will come in handy. Make sure you took pictures front, back, and side so you can compare at the end of the challenge. This may be the only way to notice if you have gotten leaner. Some of you may gain weight by adding lean muscle. Pictures and the body mass test we did with Dr. Bojar will tell our story.

And performance? We performed workouts and recorded our times and weights as a benchmark for progress.

And remember that during our six weeks, we are eating clean based on our challenge outline. After the six weeks we can add some of the things we think we can’t live without. We may find out when the challenge concludes that we enjoy a lot more foods than when we began this short journey. However, I’m pretty sure I can’t live without dark chocolate…in another month or so.

Keep having fun and let us know how you are progressing. Kill your Coward.

Great link on the main site today about hydration. Check it out.

Use your rest as a vehicle to get better, faster, and stronger.

Our nutrition challenge is soon upon us. Who is participating? Be ready for some very visible changes if you are in.

A quick note of congratulations is due for some recent accomplishments. Khris and Porn Star (along with Boyfriend) recently attended their Level I certification in Golden. They are now armed with more information about form, programming, and some of the how’s and why’s of our training methods.

Lori, Faith, and Tammy attended the Gymnastic Certification with Jeff Tucker we hosted at our gym this past weekend. Handstands, tucks, inversions, ring work, muscle ups, kipping….plus a whole lot more. This certification is quite valuable as gymnastics is quite simply, your body moving through space. We have lots of fun work on the horizon.

Great job, guys.
