Food Challenge is Here

Here we go with all of the important details. You may have some questions, so ask. However, the basics are simple, so don’t make this difficult. Well, you could make it difficult, but we will make fun of you. You know, the usual.

When:
28 days, beginning October 21, and ending November 17.

Who:
Anyone who wants to join.

Why:
So we can clean up our food intake as the holiday season is upon us.
So you can be the winner and get your December gym membership for free!

How:
This food challenge is with a partner, someone for you to be accountable too, in addition to yourself.
If you don’t eat your meal with your partner, you must text a picture of your food to your partner.
Each qualifying meal is worth one point, eat three meals per day.
A gluten free meal earns one additional point per meal.
Each gym workout each day earns one point, max two points per day.
Highest total points at the end of the challenge is the winner. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

What:
This is a paleo-ish challenge. Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and limited fruit, limit your sugar intake. You can have limited butter and heavy cream.
Protein means something that had a face in a former life. Feel free to eat third world proteins, but you won’t get credit for being in the third world…we live in Colorado, and it’s hunting season, so eat meat.
Each meal, yes breakfast included, must have a protein, a carbohydrate, and a fat. Vegetable are better than fruits, but govern yourself accordingly.
One ounce of dark chocolate a day is ok. Eat more, lose one point per ounce.
Three glasses of red wine each week is ok. Drink more, and lose one point per drink.
Caffeine? Limit your intake. Keep it simple.

Not sure if you should eat it? Think about this and then go eat more meat.

We will have a scoresheet at the gym and will post one for you to carry around and keep your own score.

Most of all realize two important things about this challenge. First, you can do this, don’t be afraid. It’s 28 days out of your entire life. Try it, you might like the results in your performance and your body composition. And second…Have Fun. That’s right, have fun. This is not a chore, this is just changing some habits you have developed.

And remember, Bacon is delicious
