Oh my!

Moving Forward

Moving Forward

Thanks to everyone who turned out for our nutrition challenge meeting today.  More than 40 of you have decided to give this food thing a whirl.  This gave me a chance to think about what we do at the gym every day.

In our programming and training, we try to get better every day.  Many of you may not realize but we are constantly talking with other gym owners and trainers to find out the best exercises and programming to move forward.  We are seeking out new seminars and certifications to gain more knowledge to pass on to each of you.

Gymnastics, olympic lifting, powerlifting, metabolic conditioning, nutrition, running, and even recently, kettlebells.  These are some of the skills that are merely tools in our arsenal of weapons we use to make us better athletes, better workers, better teachers.

We are giving you our all to make you stronger, both mentally and physically.  When you approach your workout, consider the following:

  1. Are you giving it your all?  Is today one of those days where giving your all means you made it to the gym?
  2. Are you trying to achieve perfect form on all of your reps?
  3. Did you count all of your reps?
  4. Did you practice one of your weak skills?
  5. Did you try and get better today?

There will always be those days where the victory is to make it to the gym, and that is okay.  Did you give 100 percent of what you had that day.  Other days are ones on which you set personal records or find something inside you didn’t know was there, or find some deep dark place you didn’t know you could find.

We want to get better and we want to help you get better.  Do you have something you want help with?  Can we do something better?  We don’t know unless you tell us.

It means something different in the mountains, but we are moving “onward and upward.”  We are SKRONG.

Did you do something to scare yourself today?  Did you Kill Your Coward today?

See you at the gym.
