Parkour Workshop

Hypoxia is fortunate to be able to host two members of the 5.10 Parkour Team, Team Street Stunts.  Stay tuned for the date!
Even if you don’t want to be the next Jacki Chan, learning how to roll, fall and move your body through space efficiently and safely can keep you from getting injured and is just plain fun!

What is Parkour?  Parkour is an art of movement in which you train the body and mind to overcome obstacles. A parkour practitioner, called a traceur (male) or traceuse (female), uses their surroundings to improve their ability to move in space. By interacting with obstacles, be they urban architecture or the natural environment, the practitioner becomes more comfortable controlling his body and navigating any terrain.

Parkour is not acrobatics, tricking, stunts, recklessness, or jumping off high objects for no reason. It is not any movement or activity that doesn’t fit in the above description “What Parkour Is”. It is also not “What you make of it” … it is predefined and has a purpose, if something doesn’t suit that purpose, it is not Parkour.

  1. I am so there. Parkour has fascinated me for years. Never had access to anyone who does it and never felt as though I could pull it off. But since I have joined Crossfit I realize that I truely am a rock star and I’ve still got some juice left. So cool, can’t wait. I’ll be flipp’n so fly they (I) will call me Burger King (or possibly McLuciousness). This is perfect for Bill!
