Check out this triple extension.  Hips, knees and ankles are fully open with arms straight.  But, you may say, he is on his toes.  That is correct, but it is only  that way because of the violent hip extension and driving through the heels.  Being on the toes and not pushing off the toes.  Note how the shoulders are up and back.  This is the moment just prior to pulling under the bar.
