This is so cool!

Teresa and Andrew arrived yesterday and we began our kids gymnastic class. It was so cool watching kids tumble, roll, rotate, and handstand. Kids are fearless.

Gymnastic movement is one of the foundations of functional movement: the ability to control your body moving through space. As adults, we quit running from the kitchen to the living room. We get too cool to move fast and have others think we are having fun.

This childlike excitement is something I crave. Believe it or not, I was the guy that got made fun of for agreeing to do just about anything. Prior to moving to Ouray, occasionally, my buddy Lance would make up workouts with no intention of actually doing them. Made up movements and ridiculous rep schemes just to see me wag my tail, pant, nod my head and ask, “when do we start?” Then the group would giggle at me. I didn’t care because I was willing to try.

Watching the kids try yesterday was awesome. Functional movement. Fearlessness. It doesn’t get much better.

If your children are not part of the class and you want them to be part of the fun, we have a waiting list you need to get them on. Contact us right away. The fun has just begun.
