February Challenge

So the tine to finish that one last workout is quickly approaching. Only hours remain. Who will win? We will run the total and let you know the proud wearer of the gym Tiara for accomplishing so much. And if you met the 20 workout goal for the month, you also get a prize.

We will distribute the prizes the first of next week and we hope everyone enjoyed getting used to the consistency of working out five times a week, or more for some, as well as the friendly jawing and competing with our team mates.

So what is next? I’m glad you asked.

February brings everyone the ability to try all of our class offerings at no additional charge. You get the Monday night Olympic lifting class at 6pm, Tuesday and Thursday night open gym at 6pm, and the first three Wednesday’s of the month open gym at 11:30am. Remember, NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. We should all smile.

Also, February brings a new challenge. A kettlebell challenge.

1,000 Russian kettlebell swings 52/35, or red kettlebells and blue kettlebells if you prefer the colors. Here is how it breaks down for those of you at home. 1,000 kettlebell swings during 20 workouts during the next 28 days means you get 50 every time you come to the gym. That’s easy!

“But that will take forever!!!” Only if two minutes is forever will it take forever. Really. It should take you no more than two minutes each day to get this done.

What do you get for all of this trouble? Better kettlebell swings, greater endurance and durability, tendon and ligament strengthening and conditioning, a better, stronger, and rounder ass…I mean a more powerful rumpasaurous…better looks, better prosperity, and a better posterior. Basically, your life will be better.

We will post a page tomorrow on the white board to log your reps. Get with one of the coaches and we will write down your swings and help you chart your progress. And you’ll get to see who is doing what and how they are getting it done.

    To add a small note to the post … you all have until 10 AM Sunday morning, February 3rd, to relay any workouts or activities completed over the last week that were outside the gym. The final results will be tallied Sunday evening and announced shortly thereafter.

    And Martha, please do not accomplish all of your 1,000 KB swings tomorrow. You need to rest for Saturday’s comp!

    Hahahaha. How did you read my mind, Parker? I was literally just now wondering how long it would take me to do all 1000 in one push…. Maybe I’ll find out Sunday. Or Monday. Thanks for all your and Aimee’s encouragement BTW. It means more than you know.

    Bit of an inquiry really, can you clarify/verify the KB weights again… this morning the girl’s were on the 54 and the guys had the 72… as is more typical with Russian swings. Please ‘splain and thanks!
