M isn’t for May, It’s for Oly

Yes, folks, M is for Oly as in OlyMpic Lifting. As you may have gleaned from Alan’s post the other day, we will be doing a lot of Olympic Lifting in the month of May. As such, we’ve come up with a  fun little challenge for the box.

Similar to January’s challenge, each class you attend that has Olympic Lifts in the program earns you a star. At each of these classes, the coach on duty will select one boy and one girl as the “best” of the day. Note that “best” does not mean strongest or most perfect form. It might mean the person or people who worked the hardest at the lift on that day. It might just be that I hate everyone in the class but two people and they get the extra stars (read: don’t piss me off people … you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry).

At the end of the month, the person with the most stars wins.

But what do they win?

Oh the things they win.

It could be a car. Or a boat. Or a hat. Or a broach. Probably not but it could be.

Ok, it’s not. It’s actually this:

  • You create a workout/WOD (coaches will help if you need it)
  • The workout will be named after you
  • The top 3 coaches will do the workout first, in front of as many spectators as want to taunt us
  • One day in June or July, your WOD will be put on the board for the regular class to do … and you don’t have to do it that day … you get to watch them/us suffer!

Now, get to the snatching … or cleaning … or jerking … oh, for the love of all that’s good, just go lift some heavy sh$t!

Someone's about to snatch from the hang (or power) position ... get some girl!
