PR Monday

As many of you are aware, we are following a program set forth by Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell focused on making us stronger and fitter CrossFitters. We will have more success built on each workout.

Today, we met the benchpress again and many of us saw new PR’s. The focused effort is showing as we get under the bar.

Westside Barbell has been producing world records and great athletes in the sport of powerlifting for many years under the guidance of Louie Simmons. Louie has also helped football teams, basketball teams, and Olympians achieve better performance in their sports through the use of the methods he developed over the years.

What is your sport? Your general physical conditioning is an integral part of your sport. Practice your skill and improve your fitness and you get better in all that you do, including the mental aspect of your game and life. Although we do physical work here in the gym, we are improving our mental ability to do our sport and all that we do. The best current example is the Tuesday night pool workout. Several of our regulars are not comfortable in the water and under the water. Overcoming your fear by running at them, or swimming at them in this case, works for most folks.

Be better every day. That’s what we do…because we can.
