How I Got Busted
So, I took the last 5 days off and am avoiding overhead work for another two weeks as I work to get my shoulder back to 100% … no biggie but it does mean that I had to customize the WOD a bit for my limitations today. Couple that with the fact that I’m a bit tired this week and after 3 rounds I thought about just stopping and calling it good. I felt bad and was wrestling with cutting it short but

As I stood near my bar after finishing my 3rd round, I started talking to Brian and Wendy, the latter of whom brought this little guy in today:

Life is so hard. I wish Chris didn't make Craig do that extra round, that was just evil. I'm so sad for him ...

Life is so hard. I wish Chris didn’t make Craig do that extra round, that was just evil. I’m so sad for him …

When, out of nowhere, Chris asks me if I was done. Naturally, I gave her the guiltiest of looks, at which point the rest of you (well, you = the 8:15 class) seemed downright gleeful at this and proceeded to yell at me to get my ass back on that bar … loved it!

And there it is: accountability. Not just to oneself but to our friends and community here at Hypoxia. In CrossFit and our little corner of the CrossFit world, we all know that there’s no cheating, no cutting corners. Do your work and keep working to finish what you started. In the end, unsurprisingly, you will always feel better for having finished the WOD as intended.

“Man I am so glad I didn’t work out today.” – said no one, except Nick, ever.

While she did her job today, poor Chris is totally screwed going forward ;).

Hey that puppy is adorable. Is he/she the new mascot for “get off your ass and lift the damn bar”. If so I cannot feel a sense of pity and heartfelt warmth at the same time.
